Imagine standing in front of your living room wall. The paint is worn and you would like it refreshed. You open ChatGPT on your phone, take a photo and ask: “I'd like to get this wall painted. How much would it cost, and when could someone do it?”
In the experience we envision, the assistant would help clarify your location, the wall's dimensions and the finish you want. With your permission, it would find a suitable provider in Studio Network and send a request. The business's sales agent, Kairi, would review the job, ask for any missing details and work with project manager Madis to prepare a price and a possible time.
Once the business had approved its offer, the answer would come back to your conversation: what is included, what it costs and when the work could happen. You would decide whether it suits you.
That complete conversation, from a photo to a quote, is our future vision. We are already building the network underneath it.
Small businesses should be discoverable where a need arises
A good painter, electrician or maintenance technician can be excellent at their trade, while reaching the next customer demands an entirely different kind of work. Their website needs to be found, their services need clear descriptions and inquiries need a response even when their hands are full.
When someone starts looking for a service by talking to an AI assistant, a business needs a way to participate in that journey. The assistant needs to understand what the business offers, whether it fits the customer's needs and how to ask for a specific quote.
Studio OS helps a business organise its daily work. Studio Network aims to open another path to its customers: making the services it chooses discoverable and giving AI a practical way to take the next step with that business.
A shared catalog gives services a consistent structure
At the centre of Studio Network is a shared, centrally discoverable catalog where businesses publish selected services in a common format. It brings together the provider's description, services, published pricing basis and a way to submit a request. People browsing the web and AI assistants can use the same information.
Over time, we want service descriptions to support comparisons of coverage areas, job requirements, what a price includes and the information needed to quote. A price per square metre might cover painting alone or include preparation and materials. An assistant needs to understand that difference before comparing offers.
The shared catalog brings together what businesses choose to make public. Each company's schedule, client records and internal pricing calculations remain in its own Studio OS workspace. The business responsible for the work answers the specific request.
Discovery needs a path to action
Finding a business is a useful start. The next step is letting an assistant work with its services: ask for a price and possible dates, check the request's progress and bring the company's approved answer back to the customer.
Studio Network provides a public API, a software interface for other applications, and an MCP interface. MCP gives AI assistants a standard way to access described tools and data. OpenAI's documentation explains how MCP servers connect ChatGPT to external services.

Our aim is for one Studio Network connection to give a person access to many small businesses. They should not need to configure a separate connection for every painter or electrician. Using it in ChatGPT still requires a suitable integration and user access to it; a catalog listing alone does not mean ChatGPT will automatically recommend a company. The same network can serve other compatible AI assistants and applications.
The business's own digital team prepares the answer
A painting request cannot end at the catalog. It needs to reach the right business's sales workflow. Studio Network routes the request into that company's Studio OS workspace, where Kairi can handle it — the same sales agent that prepares responses and offers for inquiries from other channels.
In our example, a photo would help explain the job, but an accurate price might require measurements, details about the surface or a visit. Kairi would ask for what is missing. Madis would help assess when the company actually has the capacity to do the work.
The answer would therefore reflect the company's own services, workload and commitments. The customer should be able to tell whether they are seeing an initial estimate or an approved quote. A proposed date and a confirmed booking must also be clearly distinguished.
We want the business to answer from its actual working situation — with AI helping both sides have that conversation.
A network for businesses to work together
The same capability matters between businesses. When a building contractor needs a painter for a project, or a design studio needs an installation partner, its agent can look for a provider in the same network and prepare a request for a quote.
Each additional business could improve the network's coverage of services and locations. More relevant providers would make it more useful to buyers and other businesses. That could become another reason to join Studio alongside simplifying administration: a way to reach new customers and partners.
Its value depends on current information and useful responses. A large list of companies does little if nobody follows up on a request. That is why we connect the catalog to businesses' everyday operations.
What exists today, and where we are heading
Studio Network already has its foundation: an opt-in public service catalog, API and MCP interfaces, and quote and availability requests that enter the business's normal sales workflow. A connected client can check a request's status and read an offer sent to the customer. Accepting an offer awaits the seller's final confirmation; an availability assessment does not reserve a time slot.
The next direction is smoother two-way communication: clarification questions and answers, photos to explain the job, and discussion of alternative dates in the same conversation. Today, replies to clarification questions still go through email. The complete ChatGPT experience at the start of this article therefore needs further development and a connection to the user's assistant.
The business chooses which services and prices are public. The customer chooses which provider receives a request and which offer to accept. Further automation must stay within the authority each side grants.
